What is the difference between employee wellbeing consultancy and counselling?

The employee wellbeing consultancy is delivered by a psychologist and is either guided self-help or cognitive behaviour therapy. This has been commissioned by the employer for an employee. Packages are also available to private individuals.

Counselling is a more intense intervention over a longer period sometimes with weekly or fortnightly appointments over several months. The counsellor will have different training from the psychologist (wellbeing consultant) and work in a more in depth way with you. This can include looking at issues in your past such as your childhood, exploring your feelings rather than just your thoughts and behaviours and help you to identify patterns and themes in your life.

What happens after I buy an 'on demand' service?

You will be contacted by your counsellor within three working days. They will talk with you through the particulars of the service you have bought and get some details from you about your employee(s). They will then contact the employee and arrange their initial appointment with the employee wellbeing consultant or counsellor.

How much information will I receive as an employer?

You will receive a short report when your employee has been completed therapy confirming their attendance and participation. The details of the report will vary depending on the situation and how much information your employee is willing to share with you.

Our team must guarantee the employee confidentiality for therapy to work. Everything that your employee has discussed in sessions will not be made available to you without prior permission. If your employee is in agreement you may be provided with information that might be helpful for you both in the workplace.

If you would like to discuss the details of client confidentially further please phone 0131 225 8508.
